Big Tree Tours
Join us to visit gentle giants -- champion trees Each spring and fall, we organize a Big Tree Tour, led by the legendary Joe Howard, founder of the Montgomery County Big Tree list and a member of the Montgomery County Forestry Advisory Board. Carole Bergmann, founder of the Parks Weed Warriors program and a forest ecologist, is our co-host. Conservation Montgomery arranges for group transportation and sets the tour dates, locations and logistics up with our guides. Joe's interpretations of details of each tree are not to be missed

Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to network with like-minded people from all over Montgomery County, Maryland. We start with a reception, followed by a brief and informative program, and the Joe Howard Environmental Award presentation.

Green Fest

The Montgomery County GreenFest is the largest annual environmental festival in Montgomery County, MD. GreenFest is organized by a coalition of public and non-profit partners. GreenFest 2026 is where people of all ages come together to celebrate, learn, and start or continue their journey to improving our community and the environment.
